Palo Alto Chinese Afterschool (2025 Fall)
Welcome to MCS Mandarin Afterschool Program! Our program at Walter Hays Elementary is designed for 1st and 2nd graders who already have good Mandarin listening comprehension and are ready to build a strong foundation in speaking, reading and writing.
Program Overview:
This program focuses on language acquisition and cultural immersion. We use the Meizhou Chinese curriculum to teach new characters, vocabulary, and grammar in a fun and interactive environment. Students will also participate in cultural activities in special Chinese traditional festivals.

Schedule
Wednesdays: 1:40 PM - 2:40 PM
Please Note: We follow the PAUSD school calendar. There will be no class on school holidays.
Target Grade Levels: 1st and 2nd Grade
Prerequisite: Good Mandarin listening comprehension
Class Size: Minimum of 8 students
Important Note: This class requires a minimum of 8 students to run. If we do not meet this minimum enrollment by the registration deadline, the class will be canceled, and all registered families will receive a full refund.

Registration Fee
Program Cost: $480
Enrollment and Materials Fee: A one-time fee of $120 will be charged for textbooks and all classroom supplies.
