The schedule (and specific class time) is level-dependent. We offer two easy ways to determine the best fit:

For New Students: Please schedule a Free Placement Assessment with us at info@menlocs.com. This quick evaluation helps us identify the ideal starting point.

For Returning Students: Refer to the recommendation provided by your child’s previous instructor if you are unsure of the next level.

Placement Tests: Download it via the Placement Test webpage for a preliminary or supplementary assessment of your child’s math foundation.

All tuition covers the full program session (January 6 – June 11, 2026).

A one-time fee of $100 is required for new students only.

Peggy McLean
MCS Math Program Director
Peggy McLean is a Math Specialist for elementary age students. She has traveled across the United States training teachers with the use of manipulative materials to build understanding of mathematical concepts. She knows that teachers must first experience the joy of learning and discovering themselves so that they can share this enthusiasm with children. She says, "Teaching is posing problems more than telling students how to do it."
She holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from California State University, San Jose. She taught math, science, and social studies courses for pre-service teachers at Notre Dame de Namur University for 25 years.
Peggy was the Elementary Math Specialist at Nueva School for 45 years and has held the same position at Synapse School for the past 8 years. Peggy's expertise in teaching mathematics is well known by audiences at National Council of Teachers of Mathematics conferences as well as those who were fortunate to learn from her in local school district staff development workshops. Educators who hear that Peggy's books are being updated and published for classroom and home education use express joy that her genius work is still available for a new generation of children. Peggy calls San
Carlos, California home.
Ms Yayin
Math Program Director and Lead Teacher
Ms. Yayin brings over 20 years of experience in education and a thoughtful approach to teaching. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science and later taught Mathematics and Computer Science at the college level in Shanghai before relocating to the U.S. with her family more than two decades ago.
Her passion for early childhood education began when she became a mom, inspiring her to devote her career to helping young learners build strong foundations in both language and math. Families appreciate her patience, her genuine love for working with children, and her ability to turn abstract concepts into clear, engaging lessons.
In her classroom, STEM thinking, logical reasoning, and joyful learning go hand in hand. She often incorporates gamified activities to make math fun, motivating, and confidence-building for every student.
Over the course of her career, she has cultivated a teaching approach that combines logical thinking with warmth and clear communication. She focuses on helping students build a solid mathematical foundation, develop confidence, and stay motivated through well-structured lessons and engaging learning activities that encourage curiosity and independent thinking.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys exploring new educational ideas, staying active, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to continuing to support each child’s growth and fostering a positive, lasting relationship with mathematics and learning.
