Summer Camp!
At Menlo Chinese School we believe the most effective way for children to learn Chinese is by sparking their natural curiosity, and by encouraging the practical application of language in everyday situations. This year, in partnership with Harmony Enrichment, we have designed our summer camp for children 5-10 years of age: both beginners as well as more advanced learners.
Students will engage in five subjects of classes, alongside weekly field trips and daily cultural activities to further enrich the learning experience. Knowledge of Chinese language is not required.
Weekly Themes:
Explore Contemporary Chinese Art
Each week will feature a different thematic exploration. We will set specific learning goals adapted to each child's proficiency level. This will ensure a challenging yet supportive environment in which every camper can thrive. Beginners will embark on a journey of discovery-building foundational vocabulary and basic conversational skills; while more advanced learners will dive deeper into the nuances of Mandarin and will have the chance to enhance their fluency.
Our Summer Camp
Goals
Our aim this summer is to help children learn and practice Mandarin in real-life contexts; while at the same time, inspiring their interest in both traditional and contemporary Chinese art and culture. Campers will learn to express themselves authentically and fluently by engaging in a wide-range of fun and creative hands-on activities and projects.
Hands on Learning:
Five Subjects and Field Trips
By integrating Art & Crafts , Jewelry Making, Music, calligraphy and field trips into our camp, students will have a multitude of opportunities to engage with different subjects. Campers will see, touch, hear, and immerse themselves in experiences that will enrich their understanding of art & chinese.

With its brand-new, state-of-the-art learning zones, as well as a fully fenced-in outdoor space, this wonderful space will provide endless possibilities for our teachers and staff to design a wide range of engaging and imaginative activities for our summer campers.
